Faith When You Have No Conditions

David's Faith in God's Word

Out of the claw of a bear—let's say the bear is holding on to a lamb with his claw. David goes there and says, "No, give me that. Will you do that?" The bear says, "I'm so powerful. I'll let you go." No. With his other hand, he will strike you. Right? But what about David? "Not a single lamb I want to lose." So he went forward and collided with the bear. What is in his heart? I'm not talking about his courage. What was he thinking? "The army of God is with me. This is greater than any other animal."

Goliath—when the Israel people looked at Goliath, including the three brothers of David, they were so afraid. Look at this. Verse 37. But David was different. Moreover, David said, the Lord who delivered me from the paw of a lion and from the paw of a bear, he will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said to David, go, and the Lord be with you. "God is with me, so I can go out and kill this Goliath."

So Saul tried to clothe David with armor. He put the bronze helmet on David's head and clothed him with a coat of mail—just armor. And giving him his sword. But David tried to walk a few steps, because Saul was a tall king and David was very small. He tested it out, and everything was too big. Even the sword dragged. So David said, "This is too heavy for me." So he went to the riverside and took five stones and the sling that he used to use. And he went to Goliath.

Goliath was this tall—come up to the stage. He'd take the long route. This is Goliath, right? So big. He's about three meters high. And David was really small. And everybody in Israel was afraid. But David was not afraid of him at all. Why? His heart was different. He doesn't have armor. He doesn't have a helmet. He doesn't have a sword in his hand. No spear. No shield. No armor bearer. Nothing. No condition to fight. But he leaned on what? The Lord. His heart was different. Do you understand me?

So this Bible is written for who? For me. I don't know about you, but this Bible is written for me. So I want to experience the same faith that David had. God wants to give you the same faith as David had. That's why He wrote this story. Is that right? Why did God write this story? To praise David? To have a good storytelling for Sunday school? Think about it. Why did God write 1 Samuel chapter 17, the David and Goliath story? For you, for us. Is that right? This kind of situation, just like Goliath, we cannot lean on the sword in our hands. That's too high. Okay. That's why God wrote this. Right?

A Man Bed-Ridden for Thirty-Eight Years

When you look at John chapter 5, there's a very strange story. There's a guy who had infirmity for thirty-eight years. He could never get up from his bed. Bed-ridden for thirty-eight years. He cannot walk. But Jesus, looking at him, says, "You've been sick for a long time. You've been in that situation for a long time. Oh, you cannot get up. Right?"

And Jesus said, "Take it up." Let's look at it. Verse 7 and 8. John chapter 5, verse 7 and 8. The sick man answered him, Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I'm coming another steps down before me. Jesus said to rise, take up your bed, and walk. And immediately, the man was made well and took his bed and walk.

How could this be possible? Oh, because Jesus is Jesus. But this can happen in our life too. I'm not talking about healing at this church. Healing is grace. If you experience healing, it's good. But in general, it talks about this guy who had an infirmity for thirty-eight years. What kind of faith does he have? He's been bed-ridden for thirty-eight years. He knows he cannot get up. I'm not talking about healing. Healing is grace. I'm not talking about that. But think about the heart of this guy who has been bed-ridden for thirty-eight years. He tried many doctors. He tried many medications. But he has no hope to get up. No hope to get healed. But what? He received the word of Jesus: "Get up, take up your bed and walk." He received the word by not looking at his own condition. Amen? He didn't look at his condition, and he accepted and believed the word of God. This is something God wants to give us. You understand me?

Justified by His Grace

So let's look at Romans chapter 3. Romans chapter 3, verse 23. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Verse 24, being justified freely by His grace, through the redemption that's in Christ Jesus. Everybody comes in sin and falls short of the glory of God. But Jesus gave us eternal redemption. Because He gave us eternal redemption on the cross, He said, "You are justified." Right? Freely by His grace, through the redemption that's in Christ Jesus. Yeah, we are sinner. We've been sinner, and we will be sinner in the future too. He made us free from sin. He has justified us.

So that's why 1 Corinthians, 1 Corinthians chapter 6, verse 9 and 10. Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither:

• Fornicator
• Idolaters
• Adulterers
• Homosexuals
• Sodomites

They cannot receive the kingdom of God as an inheritance. That's right. Verse 10, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

This is very obvious. But verse 11, and such were some of you. I want you to focus on these three parts here. Okay. Three things. But you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of God. Amen? Amen.

You don't have any condition to call yourself sanctified, because you will commit sin all your life. Anybody had confidence that you're not going to commit sin anymore? You will commit sin until you die. Right? How can you say that you are holy? But the Bible says you were sanctified—means you became holy. And the Bible says you are washed. And you're justified. That's what the Bible says. I didn't do anything. I have no condition to call myself holy or sanctified. But there's only one condition that we all have here to become righteous and holy. That is what? The word of God. And by believing this, "Oh Jesus Christ made us righteous. Oh Jesus justified me. He washed my sins." So we can say we are washed, sanctified, and justified. Amen?

This guy who had infirmity for thirty-eight years—he had no condition to take off his bed and walk. He cannot do it. But Jesus, he trusted Jesus. Jesus said, "Take up your bed and walk." Oh, he gave me the strength to take up my bed and walk. When he says that, he already prepared. He has given me already.

My wife sometimes prepared food and then calls me to eat. When I'm in the room, she calls me, "Come and eat." If I don't show up in ten seconds, she's going to say, "Oh, I prepared everything. Why are you coming late?" So I'm counting. She says, "Come and eat," and then it's like, "Ten. I should be there in ten seconds." And sit down. And then another rule is do not evaluate. Do not talk about anything about the food.

When Jesus said, "You're washed," what do you have to do? When Jesus says, "You are washed," what do you have to say? Amen. When Jesus says you are sanctified, you became holy. So what do you have to say? "Hey, come. You know, I made you sanctified. Perfect." Amen. You are sanctified.

He prepared, and he's calling us. "You are sanctified." My wife calls me, "Hey, eat the food, mister. Dinner is ready." Means she prepared something. For the past twenty-two years, she cooked food and called me, "Come and eat." There was never a single time that she didn't prepare anything and said, "Come and eat." If she didn't prepare anything, she doesn't call me from the kitchen. She just talks to me right next to me, "Go and..." That's what she said. Means I need to prepare. But always when she calls me, "Come and eat," she prepares some things. Is that right?

What did Jesus say? "Yeah, I'm a drunkard. I'm a reviler. I'm one of the extortioners. I'm one of the adulterers. I'm one of the fornicators. Yes, maybe I'm some of these people." But Jesus prepared his sanctification and he said, "You are sanctified." So what do you have to say? Amen. "I'm sanctified. Yes. Thank you."

Jesus said, "You are washed." What do you have to say? "I'm not washed"? Then what does Jesus say? "You're washed." Right? "Oh, I'm not ready to go to heaven. I have still sins." No. "I washed you." That's what He says.

David's Conditions

Is David's condition to win against Goliath? Goliath is about three meters and five centimeters high—that's about the height of the basketball rim. What is the condition David has to conquer and win? Just a little faith. "God delivered me from the paw of lion and bear. He will deliver me from this guy." No one else in Israel had that faith. How about you? If you have that faith, then you will say this.

Let's look at Jeremiah chapter 10, verse 23. Oh, Lord, I know that the way of a man is not in himself. It is not in man that walketh to direct his steps. So if the way of a man is not in himself, then who? Where is it then? Look at Proverbs chapter 16, verse 9. A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. So if you believe this, you will see God is leading your steps. If you don't believe this, you will see that you are the one who directs your steps. You are the one who directs your way. But if you believe it, God is the one who directs your steps. And you will see that. Is that right? So the condition is not in your hand, but in God's hands.

Look at one more verse. Proverbs 24, verse 16. For a just man falleth seven times and rise up again. Here, the just man means the righteous man, not the sinner. But the righteous man who believes in Jesus. The just man falls seven times. So the Bible is telling us the real truth. We may fall. Is that right? The righteous man doesn't fall? No. They fall. But they rise up again. Why? Because there's God who raised us. You know the song, right? "You raise me up." Do you know that song? You don't know it? Oh my God. "You raised me up." That song comes from this verse. Just men may fall, okay. But because they believe in Jesus, because they believe in God, they went. So okay.

The Life We Live

So today, I want to talk about David. David and Goliath's story is very famous. Everybody knows that David could win against Goliath. Good job, David. I'm not talking about that. That faith, you can have it in your life. God directs your steps. You can have that belief. When you believe it, you have courage just like David, and you go against the challenges in your life. You'll see God is working in your life. Amen?

So I talked about just a few things today. God is giving you everything. Second Corinthians chapter 6, verse 10. As sorrowful yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing all things.

So the Bible says when you look at yourself, you have nothing. Yet you possess all things. The Bible said you are sorrowful. The Bible said, yet you are always rejoicing. When you look at yourself, you are poor, but the Bible says, yet making many people rich. That's who we are. When you believe that, it'll happen to you. How can you live a life of a rich person? When you believe this? There are so many people who are rich, but there are not many people who are making many people rich. But we are the one who make many people rich. There are so many sorrowful things in our lives, yet we rejoice every day. Amen? And this is my faith.

Prayer

So let's pray.

For a long time, we've been caught up by the things that we have and we don't have. Lord, today, we learned that what we don't have is really a blessing, because we don't have it, so we can rely on You. And we can believe in the word of God. Please lead our heart to find the conditions only in the word of God. Please bless us so that we can have the same faith that David had. Father God, please allow us the same faith as the guy who had infirmity for thirty-eight years. The word of God is our condition. Your promise in the Bible is the only condition. We ourselves, we cannot make it to heaven. But by Your grace, we are sanctified, justified, and we are washed. Thank you for teaching us the faith. And we praise You. We give all the glory to You. For the upcoming Tabernacle Encounter, we put it in Your hands. We believe that You will accomplish it. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

This kind of meeting, what we do is just reshare what we listen to back, what I understand. That's all we do in this meeting, and so we can use it in our personal life today.

For me, I have many challenges right now. I think about the story of David and Goliath. I think I will have a lot of Goliats outside. I have to challenge a lot of bullies. I can do this, you know?

Before I start mechanic school, my first idea was to graduate and then open my shop. Even though I don't have the necessary experience, I can hire someone who has more experience than me, and I will have my office. Then from my office, if I don't have work in the beginning, the degree will be really difficult. So I will continue with my digital work for my office. And maybe in the night, I can go to share.

But my eyes are open to the situation now, and I wonder, is it really going to work? I see all the time different conditions. I have the condition to do this because I don't have the money. I don't have anything. If I see the conditions, I have to pay for a car. I have to pay house and rent. I have to pay for a shop. I have to buy equipment and pay salary. I don't think this will work.

But when I listen today, mostly the history of the story of this Korean guy who went to the bank without any condition and said, "I will do this." And they just trusted him. I think he's kind of a hero. And I think I can do it, even if people don't have a gap. Sometimes you see a lot of people who don't believe in God. Nothing. But God used them. And then you see, oh, if these people don't know God, then they do it. I can do this because I got God in my heart, you know?

We need to have the same faith. Every time we listen about David, we say, "I need the heart of David. The faith that David has." But sometimes we forget that we have this same thing. We have it. We have the same God. We have everything. But sometimes we forget.

He went to share the last verse that we read in Second Corinthians. Even though I'm sad, I have to be joyful. Even when poor, I have to be like rich. This is good.

The last person, Pastor John, shared about Corinthians. Sometimes we're sad. We think, "I'm a poor guy. I'm not that rich man," but we are rich. We share the gospel.

Brother Kim told me something that I didn't understand that day when he said it. The day I went to Dallas, I worked that day, and Brother Kim came to me and said something. "You miss work means you miss money. Maybe money that you need. But you know what? You have credit. You have a lot of credit."

I was like, "What kind of credit?" I didn't think deeply about that.

So Thursday, I have to go to the hospital to make a payment because I don't have insurance. All my medical bill was like $2,500. But I qualify for medical help. And they told me, maybe you're just gonna pay like $400. But it's better if you're gonna pay $400 than $2,500. And if you don't have the whole money, you can make payments.

But when Brother Kim said that, "Now you got credit. You helped you. You preach the gospel? God is taking care of everything."

So Friday, I received a call from the hospital. And the lady said, "Hey, Hector. I got something about your bill. You have to pay $190, but never mind. You just cover everything. You don't have to pay."

I said, "I don't even have to pay the $190?"

No. No. Everything is covered. Your bill was $2,500? No. Nothing. Nothing. Zero.

So now nothing? Nothing? Nothing. Well, that's good. My bill is zero, you know?

So when they told me that, I was like... Now I understand. The brother came to me about the cream. I would like to invite you all, you guys together one day. Sometimes it's hard to miss one day of work. You know? They say, "I wanna take this day off," but I would like to talk about what day, and everybody can take the day off from work. With all the churches to give invitation about the tabernacle. Yeah. Because when you see all the people that come to the tabernacle and they listen, it's amazing. It's not because I say, "Oh, if you accept Jesus Christ in your heart, you'll be saved." No, no, no. You're righteous. You're perfect. Not because of my dad. Not because I say. It's because it's in the Bible.

Because that day, there was an old man. You know the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, verse by verse. And then he said, "Hey. Are you working for Good News Mission?"

I said, "Yeah. I'm not well, I'm from Good News Mission."

And he said, "I've got a question about your church. I was looking at AI, and they said that your church is occult. Is it good? Cult. Yeah."

He asked me, "Do you have a sin?"

I said, "No."

Well, you can say you don't have a sin. I don't have a sin because the Bible says that I have a sin. Jesus Christ already paid for my sin at the cross. He said, "Everything is finished. He did everything."

Now I know, but in this first so for more than an hour, he was chasing me. Fighting. Fighting with me. And then I was like, "Oh my God. I was, give me the verse. I can talk to him?"

Yeah. I was feeling like, oh, no, I was afraid, but I was like, I was trusting God.

And then Pastor from Las Vegas came. He saw like they fight him. He came and he told him, "Hey. For another thirty minutes..." Yeah. He was preaching gospel. And then when the old man was like, "Yeah. It's in the Bible. Right now, I see. Yeah. It's probably..." And then he took he said, "Well, okay. You go. Stop. So you're trying to say that all the fifty years that I've been a Christian, I had to turn it over in the trash."

And I was by that moment, I was like, "What can I say?" I told him, "That's the problem. You work for your solution by your own. Do you recognize the Bible? That's that's it. That's the point. You don't have to recognize that you was wrong, and you were wrong. Not because I said the Bible said, you..."

He was like, he will live, you know? I mean, it's hard because I'm a believer and I know that this that this is the truest one that is in the world. The only one thing that they don't wanna accept is their room. Because they was believing in something that is not in the way. I work every day to be a good person, good Christian, but they're wrong. Because we cannot be good people by ourselves.

Maybe one day we can choose one day. Just just one day, go to many churches and give invitation, talk about the tabernacle. Yeah. And God is God is gonna give us whatever we need. Even I know everybody needs money to live, you know, payments, everything, but I know one thing. When you work for the gospel, God is taking care of everything.

You can see a really good person in Brother Kim. Sometimes he's we went to work, and I was working here. Yeah. And then he stopped preaching the gospel. And I said, "Oh, yeah. I mean, we're losing some time to work, but he's preaching. People listen to gospel."

So we're not just working, but when we have a little chance, we can preach the gospel. When we preach the gospel, it's good for us too because we receive. By the time we're preaching gospel, like Pastor John said today, when he started preaching, receiving grace? He said, me first. Yeah. So when we preach the gospel, I think we receive grace. Even the other people receive grace. We are the first time receiving that grace.

And today, we can see clearly that we need to have the faith like they do. Even sometimes we say, "No. I can do..." If we believe the gospel...
